One of the main things I love about Athens is the food culture. There are so many cuisines and innovative restaurants, especially downtown, and Hugh Acheson even has two restaurants in Athens! So, on my second trip to Clocked!, I fell even more in love with this Athens burger joint.

Clocked Decor

Clocked! can be missed if you’re expecting some fancy, typical burger restaurant, but it is absolutely worth going to at least once. It has an edgy, vintage movie/game-ey feel that just works. Plus, the waiters and waitresses are so incredibly nice.

Now on to the food! Clocked! takes a fun twist on the classic burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheeses, sandwiches, milkshakes, and sodas. The first time I went, I had a bacon and egg grilled cheese which has cheddar, crispy bacon, and a fried egg on top. It is delicious.

Clocked Peanut Butter and Bacon Burger

My favorite dish, however, has to be the peanut butter and bacon burger which has melted peanut butter and crispy bacon atop a patty, sandwiched between a smushy, sesame seed-covered bun. This burger sounds absolutely crazy, but you have to try it to believe it! It’s so salty and the peanut butter adds something sweet, but not “dessert sweet.”

I also love Clocked!‘s drinks and sides. Their French fires and tater tots are delicious, but I highly recommend the onion rings. They also have amazing specials, so definitely try those! I recently had the watermelon lemonade, which was one of their specials, and I couldn’t gulp it up quicker! So good!

If you’re in Athens, visit Clocked! and let me know what you ate!
