Rule Number Three: Wear Your Heart on Your Cheek

Last Wednesday I attended Marina & the Diamonds’s Lonely Hearts Club Tour at Center Stage in Atlanta! Talk about AMAZING! The tour was headlined by Marina, but Swedish synthpop duo Icona Pop opened the concert.
Marina & the Diamonds (led by Marina Diamandis; her fans are the diamonds) is a Welsh performer that has gained popularity in the states over the past year, with her sophomore album Electra Heart. I, of course, have been a follower of Marina since her 2010 debut with The Family Jewels, so I was crazy excited to go to her concert.
Marina was gorgeous, had high energy, and sounded even better than she does on her albums. She performed songs from both of her albums, changing her costumes and accessories every so often to compliment the songs.
Icona Pop was also amazing. I must admit, I have only listened to them for a bit over a month in preparation for this concert, but now I absolutely LOVE them. Comprised of Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, Icona Pop brought an unbelievable energy to the event. The girls mixed their songs live and danced, interacting with fans the whole way through. Not only are they adorable, but they have amazing vocals, great energy, and are so sweet. I’m now a firm Icona Pop follower!
I’m now sure of one thing: I will definitely be seeing Marina and Icona Pop again in their concerts–I’m smitten with them and their music!
